Zuleika
The Zuleika Project lies approximately 50km northwest of Kalgoorlie. There are numerous significant gold deposits and former mines associated with the Zuleika Shear, such as the Kundana (+7Moz) and Mt Pleasant (+4Moz) gold deposits. The project consists of 49 Prospecting Licence Applications totalling approximately 7,050Ha.
The project covers a poorly exposed sequence of mafic and ultramafic volcanics, black shales and other sedimentary rocks. There has been surprisingly limited previous exploration given the project’s location. The work to date includes a detailed aeromagnetic survey, first pass auger soil geochemistry, and broad spaced (400m by 100m, with some 200m by 50m) RAB drilling. Limited RC drilling has also been undertaken in isolated areas.
Best results to date – ZURC006, 1m @ 50.40g/t Au from 84m, ZUR049 4m @ 1.19g/t Au from 68m to the end of the hole, ZUR063 4m @ 5/74g/t Au from 72m.
There appears to never been any follow up of these drillholes since it was drilled in December 1993.
There are many other low order (0.5-1g/t Au) targets identified from very wide spaced drilling.
